The River Valley Wildcats season as a team is over, but the girls returned to the Swanson Tennis Center (or, the Bubble) at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter on Friday, Oct. 6 for individual playoffs.

The River Valley Wildcats season as a team is over, but the girls returned to the Swanson Tennis Center (or, the Bubble) at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter on Friday, Oct. 6 for individual playoffs.

Lauren Klein and Kelsie Domeier faced off against the No. 1 doubles from St. James. Megan Himmelman and Courtney Sellner competed against the No. 2 doubles team from Luverne. Both Wildcat teams lost their first matches.

Hanna Himmelman and Briana Schmidt participated as singles players. Briana lost her first match. Hanna won both matches and advanced to the final four.

No. 1 Singles: Hanna Himmelman (RV) def. Trinity Seedorf (USC) 6-1, 6-2. No. 2: Maci Stevermer (BE) def. Briana Schmidt (RV) loss to 6-4, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles: Abby Bright and Luci Kulseth (SJ) def. Lauren Klein and Kelsie Domeier (RV) 6-4, 0-6, 7-6 (7-5)

Himmelman’s second match was a win over Sam Pierce (L) 6-4, 6-4. She will play #1 seed Renata Hernandez of St. James on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Bubble. The top two finishers advance to the state tournament.
