The Indians fought an uphill battle in the first set. Serving has been something the Indians have struggled with over the season, but their defense made up the difference and gave them the win in set one.

In the second set, the Indians fell behind the Mustangs 11-7. Working back from the deficit, the Indians managed to retake the lead, but were unable to pull ahead by any significant gap—winning the set by three points.

The third set was the toughest fight the Indians faced. The Mustangs continued to tie them at every turn, forcing the Indians to 27 points. Madi Heiderscheidt had 14 kills and 15 digs, Mya Ibberson got ten kills and four blocks.

Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 0

(25-22, 25-22, 25-14)

The Indians hosted the Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity Bulldogs on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The Indians got off to a rough start, giving up four points at the start of the game on a serving error and some defensive missteps.

The Indians did what they do best and worked the deficit to take set one. They repeated the magic in set two, cleaning up some errors from the first set.

By set three the Bulldogs had run out of fight and lost by 11 points. Heiderscheidt had 14 kills and seven digs, Cassidy Hoffmann added 22 set assists and seven aces.

The Indians travel to New Ulm to take on the MVL Chargers on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
