As the staff at Sleepy Eye Public Schools met for their first day of workshops, Kris Bloedel was announced as Sleepy Eye Education Association (SEEA) Teacher of the Year.
On Monday morning, Aug. 14, the staff at Sleepy Eye Public Schools met for their first day of workshops to prepare for the students arriving next Monday morning. One of the highlights of their opening meeting was the announcement of Kris Bloedel as Sleepy Eye Education Association (SEEA) Teacher of the Year.
SEEA Vice President Kate Nelson announced the award, reading from the nomination. Comments included:
“Over the years, Kris has done a lot for the Sleepy Eye school district and has been a mainstay in the Physical Education department.
“Kris understands the importance of Physical Education in relation to student academic success.
“Kris does an excellent job keeping up with new trends in Physical Education; she passes those new ideas and activities on to her students.
“Many of our Developmental Adaptive PE students over the years improved dramatically due to the perseverance and dedication of Kris.
“Kris has been of service to our kids not only in the classroom, but also on the court, field and track. In particular, Kris has helped improve and produce some excellent volleyball and track athletes.
“Kris has been a consistent and well respected member of our teachers union and is one of those representatives who other teachers look to for advice.
“Kris Bloedel would be an excellent choice for the SEEA Teacher of the Year!”
