MnDOT Project Engineer Dan Swanson provided an update on the Highway 14 construction project Tuesday morning. He noted the project is in its second week with no weather delays yet. “Crews are working a six-day workweek to minimize the construction impact to the travelling public,” Swanson said. “Motorists are encouraged to continue being patient and to follow all construction signs. Construction traffic will be picking up this week as the bituminous milling and hauling has begun.”

Swanson sent the following proposed schedule, noting it is subject to change due to weather.

Week of July 10 to 15:

•Continued surveying/mill profile—to continue through week

•Started milling bituminous pavement July 10—to continue through week

Work that can start after week of July 10 to 15:

•Concrete paving—from Sleepy Eye going west

•Culvert lining

•Culvert extensions

Swanson reminded businesses and residences with access to Highway 14 to contact the project access manager, Joe Miessen, with PCiRoads at 612-750-7150 with any access or specific schedule questions.
