The Cougars came out shooting strong in the first half and took a big lead. CMC’c Jordan Kevelin and Abby Jennings scored 12 and 11 points respectively in the first half. The Knights’ Anna Lux put up 13 points, but it wasnt enough to slow down the Cougars lead. “CMC came out fast and took a 22-2 lead that we just never recovered from,” said coach Bruce Woitas. At halftime the game was 40-27, Cougars.

In the second half, the Knights kept CMC from having as many opportunities at the hoop, but the Cougars were able to hold the lead they had established in the first half. “We came out flat and we just can’t do that against a good team,” Woitas said. “We have a week to get ready for our playoff game against BOLD.”

Lux led the Knights with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jenny Lax got 11 points and five rebounds.

The Knights will travel to BOLD on Tuesday, Feb. 28 to play the Warriors at 7 p.m.
