In the first half the Knights did a good job of balancing the score and keeping up with the Chargers. But the Chargers went on a run midway through the half to outshoot the Knights and put the score at 45-28, Chargers, by halftime. “Except for the last few minutes, I thought we played pretty well in the first half,” said Knights coach Tim Milliard.

The second half got worse for the Knights, as the Chargers played a harder game and brought fresh senior players off the bench. The Knights started missing too many shots, and on several occasions passed the ball to the opposing team. The Knights caught one break in the second half when Charger Jace Marotz fouled out of the game. The Knights managed five points off of that loss of momentum. In the end, the Knights didn’t have enough to stop the Chargers’ offense.

“In the second half the game got away from us, and this is the first time this year that I was disappointed in our effort,” said Milliard. “Especially on the defensive end of the floor.”

Alex Woitas led the Knights with 17 points and four rebounds. Nick Labat scored 12 points and got eight rebounds. Cole Owens and Collin Ludewig each scored 10 points.
