The Lions Club announced their first Students of the Month for this year - Anna Lux and Caleb Christensen.

Anna Lux, a senior at St. Mary’s, has been active in volleyball, basketball, softball, and cheerleading throughout her high school career. She has served as a member of National Honor Society and held the offices of student council treasurer and president. In addition to being an altar server, Anna has volunteered in her community at the blood drive, Food for Kidz, and the church festival. Anna has worked at Schwartz Farms, Inc. and St. Mary’s School during her summers.

Dedication, hard work, self confidence, and self motivation are values that help Anna succeed. “These values will help me become the person I have always wanted to be, which is a strong, independent, hard-working woman who goes and does big things in her life,” she said. Anna will always see her mom as the greatest influence in her life. “She is a strong, genuine, and dedicated woman,” said Anna. “She always has time for me when I am at a hard time in my life.

Caleb Christensen is a senior at Sleepy Eye Public School who has played golf since seventh grade and basketball throughout high school. Caleb served as class vice president as a freshman and has served as class president every year since. He has volunteered with his church and National Honor Society and teaches Sunday School this year. Caleb currently works at the Sleepy Eye Golf Club and previously worked at B&H Trucking.

Caleb believes hard work and perseverance are crucial tools for helping him succeed. “I have always worked hard in school and spend many hours striving to reach my dream of playing college sports,” he said. Caleb credits his dad for teaching him to work hard for what he wants. “His hard-working mindset is an important influence on me,” said Caleb.
