Keeyan Randall Netzke took his first Herald-Dispatch photo shoot in stride on Friday. He slept through the entire thing.
Keeyan is Sleepy Eye’s 2010 New Year’s Baby, born at Sleepy Eye Medical Center on Thursday, Jan. 28 to Randy and Alicia Netzke of Sleepy Eye. He has two big brothers, Gavin and Arian.
“We were surprised how big he was,” Alicia said. He is a good-sized baby.
Keeyan is also very cute. Alicia decided he looks like Randy. “He’s got his dad’s nose,” she said.
“His first words were, ‘I love you, daddy’,” Randy joked as he photographed Keeyan with his maternal grandparents, Beth and Alan Zuhlsdorf of Sleepy Eye.
Keeyan’s paternal grandparents are Ron and Becky Netzke, also of Sleepy Eye. Great-grandparents include Pat and Mildy Augustin, Albert and Pauline Zuhlsdorf and Emilie Netzke, all of Sleepy Eye.
Alicia’s hospital room was filled with grandparents when the Herald-Dispatch dropped by to photograph Keeyan and deliver gifts bestowed upon him and his family from businesses sponsoring the New Year’s Baby contest.
Big brother, Arian, seemed to enjoy the plastic pig bank, one of the gifts from Arneson’s Distributing. He ran from grandparent to grandparent gathering coins and dollars for little Keeyan.
Did Arian like his baby brother? “Yeah,” he said.
“Do you want to keep him or can grandma take him home?” Beth Zuhlsdorf asked.
Arian decided he wanted to keep Keeyan and share his toys with him, as long as Keeyan doesn’t break them.
Congratulations to the Netzke family! Welcome to Sleepy Eye, Keeyan!
