  • A Sleepy Eye man and his son were injured and one person is dead after a crash in west central Minnesota Tuesday night (July 15).
Authorities reported that they responded to a crash about 8:15 p.m. on Highway 12 three miles east of the city of DeGraff in Swift County. A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kayla Wrobleski, 19, of DeGraff was heading east on Highway 12. She was attempting to make a left turn when the vehicle she was driving was rear-ended by a 1997 Audi Cabriolet driven by 37-year-old Thomas Kolbe of Sleepy Eye.
The State Patrol said after being rear-ended, the Pontiac was broadsided on the driver’s side by a semi-truck driven by Jack Witthuhn, 65, of Wadena, who was heading west on Highway 12. Wrobleski suffered a fatal injury in the crash.
Kolbe and his 8-year-old son both received non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
