  • The Sleepy Eye Public School 8th grade girls Pacesetter Basketball team recently won the State Pacesetter tournament on June 22.

  • The Sleepy Eye Public School 8th grade girls Pacesetter Basketball team recently won the State Pacesetter tournament on June 22.
    The girls won their first game against Mount Iron-Buhl with a final score of 22-13.
    The girls would have to play one more game to make it to the championship.
    In their second game they would face Goodhue in a higher scoring game with a final score of 37-25.
    The girls only had International Falls to beat to bring home the state title. The final score ended up 28-19 in an easy win to claim the title.
    The girls will now compete in the Great Four State tournament in the Target Center Sunday, June 29.
    The team will take on the best teams from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota to be named the best Pacesetter team in the Midwest.
