  • The District 84 Board of Education met on June 12 to discuss the 2014-15 budget and also the Health and Safety budget.
    The good news items included the girls Golf team finishing up the season as well as the installment of the new bleachers in the high school gym.
    Amanda Boomgarten presented the 2014-15 budget as well as Tim Harbo presenting the budget for Health and Safety which included the new bleachers for $33,779 and $8,400 for auditorium railings. The total budget for Health and Safety was $114,727.12.
    Action Items for the meeting included
    -Health and Safety budgets for 2014, 2015, 2016 by finance code.
    -Health and Safety policy as it currently exists as recommended by MSBA
    -Nursing Services for 2014-15
    -High School Principal’s contract for 2014-15.
    -Business Manager’s adjusted contract.
    -Resignation of Rebecca Hinderman as fall danceline coach.
    -Approve Art teacher contract position 1 FTE Alyssa Mattheis
    -Resignation of Kris Bloedel as head track coach.
    -Resignation of Deb Reinharts as the student council advisor.
    -Shane Laffen as boys head basketball coach.
    -Shane Laffen as head tennis coach.
    Brian Bauleke as the girls assistant basketball coach.
    -Dissolution of Wrestling cooperative.
    -Accept $3000 grant from Ag. Star in behalf of Sleepy Eye Ag. Department.
