As we get older, we don’t always want to remember our birthday. It usually means another year older and with it some additional aches and pains.
As we get older, we don’t always want to remember our birthday. It usually means another year older and with it some additional aches and pains. But at a certain point, there are no more aches and pains. No more sickness or heartache either. When we have reached that point, we are probably in Heaven if we are believers.
I can only imagine what Heaven must be like... bright, beautiful light and Jesus there to greet everyone as they enter through the eternal gates. That’s my vision of Heaven. So after years have passed, there should be no sadness to life’s earthly end. And to that, I thank a loving God for the mercies He grants me daily. Friday, May 16, Dad would’ve celebrated another birthday making him 76. His earthly celebrations are done with us, but his joyous celebrations in Heaven are an every moment occurrence. His knees and hips no longer hurt and he isn’t tired after a long day at work. He only feels joy.
So Happy Birthday Dad! When this earthly life has ended, we’ll meet again and what a birthday we’ll celebrate. Tell everyone up there I send my love. We’ll talk again real soon.
Thought for the week: Joy seems to me a step beyond happiness – happiness is a sort of atmosphere you can live in sometimes when you’re lucky. Joy is a light that fills you with hope, faith and love. – Adela Rogers St. Johns
