  • The New Ulm Diocese Council of Catholic Women is planning its 55th Annual Convention, hosted by the Church of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, on Saturday, April 26.

The convention promises to be an enlightening experience. The theme of the day is: “Be Recognized as Companions of Jesus.” The keynote speaker will be Raymond de Souza.

Raymond de Souza is the Director of Evangelization of the Diocese of Winona. Raymond describes himself as “Brazilian by birth, Catholic by grace, Australian by choice.”

As an internationally renowned speaker, Raymond has given more than 2,000 talks over 25 years in defense of Catholic social teaching and apologetics. His work in radio, television and seminars has assisted religious education programs in parishes, schools, and lay organizations on five continents, notably in Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Australia.

The Convention day, which begins with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m., includes keynote speaker, Holy Mass celebrated by The Most Holy Reverend Bishop John M. LeVoir, lunch, a silent auction, various displays, vendors, religious article suppliers, Catholic Q&A with Msgr. Eugene Lozinski and concludes with prayer at 2:30 p.m. Join us for a day of prayer, education, and fun….an opportunity to socialize with the women of the Diocese of New Ulm.
