  • The St. Mary’s and Sleepy Eye Public golf teams had their first meets of the season on April 15.
     
    For the Sleepy Eye Public boys, the Indians traveled to Springfield and shot a total of 204 on the day. Meanwhile, Springfield shot a 197 and BLHS had 186 on the day. Ben Laffen had the fourth best score of the day, shooting a 48. Behind him was Matt Miller, who shot 49.
     
    For the girls, Springfield’s team totaled 217 while Sleepy Eye shot 232. Lauren Laffen was the medalist after shooting a 45, and next closest was Karrah Remus, who shot a 46.
     
    Meanwhile, St. Mary’s golf team traveled to New Ulm Cathedral. The boys team took first after scoring a total of 194 while Cedar Mountain had 200 and Cathedral had 218. Ryan Heinrichs was the medalist after he shot a 43 in the meet. Behind him was Lucas Heiderscheidt and Andrew Neid, who shot 46 and 47, respectfully.
     
    For the girls, Cathedral won over St. Mary’s by 18 strokes, as the Greyhounds shot 235 compared to the Knights 253. Anna Miller had the top score for St. Mary’s at 60.
