  • Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Peace Presbyterian Church in St. Louis Park, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN following the luncheon.

  • Geneva G. Klinge (Smith), 96, of Crookston, MN and formerly of St. Louis Park, MN passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on a farm near Courtney, ND on October 4, 1917 and graduated from Sutton High School as Valedictorian. She also graduated from Valley City Teachers College with a double major in Art and Biology. She taught in a one room school house in North Dakota, kindergarten to 8th grade.
    In 1949 she met Ardell Klinge through mutual friends and married in August 1949.They moved to California, where they started their family of seven children. They lived in California, Arizona, Oregon, and Minnesota. Sadly, Ardell passed away on July 20, 1989. In February 2003 Geneva moved to the Summit Apartments at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN to be closer to her son and grandchildren. Geneva was devoted to her faith and her family. She loved crafting and nature and always saw the beauty in everyday things. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone she met and was loved by all.
    Loving family members are John Klinge (Catalina) of Palmdale CA, Duane Klinge of Eden Prairie, MN Cynthia Boyum (Kent) of Vedic City, IA, Ronald Klinge (Anita) of Crookston, MN, Susan Klinge of Vedic City, IA, Deborah Therault (David) of Waterbury, CT and Catherine Klinge of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Kohlman Klinge of Eagan, MN, Lauren Klinge of Fargo, ND, Jon and Cheryl Klinge of Palmdale, CA; two sisters, Patricia Rickford (Kermit) of Prior Lake, MN, Janice Walen (Leander) of Glenfield, ND and one brother, Richard Smith (Doris) of Mason City, IA; one sister-in-law, Elaine Smith of Cooperstown, ND and one brother-law, Norman Johnson of Salem, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell Klinge and brother, Jerold Smith, sisters, Thelma Wright and Eileen Johnson.
