  • The decision on whether to cancel school Tuesday because of frigid weather will be left up to individual districts, according to state officials.
     
    Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton closed all K-12 schools in the state on Monday because of the bitter cold, but he won’t do so for Tuesday.
     
    “School superintendents are monitoring temperatures and local conditions closely and are prepared to communicate with families so they can plan accordingly,” said Education Commissioner Brenda Casselius in a statement Monday morning.
