    An automated voice message tells the recipient their credit card has been locked out. The automated call then instructs the recipient to enter their credit card number and pin to unlock it.
     
    Recipients of this call are warned not to enter any information. Hang up and call the financial institution of the card or the customer service department to determine the validity of the call.
     
    The Sleepy Eye Police Department reminds residents that credit cards and financial institutions will never call asking for that information over the phone.
