  • The Community Education Advisory Board met recently and reviewed the requests for activities, classes and events that would be included in our next brochure which will list lifelong learning opportunities starting in January. It is not too late to make your suggestions, but we would like to have our information ready when we start the December holiday break. Give us a call if you have an idea, want to offer a class, or have a suggestion for a one day outing.

Two reminders for school district residents concern walking in our building and V.I.P. passes. Walkers have been signing up each week to take advantage of walking the hallways after 3:30 p.m. on school days. Many have their walking badge from prior years and just need to call so we can update our list for this year.
The V.I.P. passes are for district residents 60+ years to attend home regularly scheduled athletic events at Sleepy Eye Public School free of charge. Many passes were provided for the football and volleyball season and they can also be used for basketball this winter season. Stop by room 109 during regular hours if you need either of these passes. Regular office hours resume Dec. 2 following the holiday break.

The season ends the first week of February and there are opportunities for youth to participate in tournaments in the area.

The Community Education office is located in Room 109 of the Sleepy Eye High School. School day hours are generally 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Since staff is part-time, they may not always be in the building. You can call and leave a message on voice mail, 507-794-7873, and we will get back to you with more information. Another option is to e-mail staff with questions and to sign-up. Addresses are on the school website.
