  • The New Ulm/Sleepy Eye PeeWee A hockey team is off to a 3-3 start on the season.
     
    The District 5 hockey team started out the season with a 7-4 on-the-road victory over Litchfield on Nov. 9. On Nov. 10, the team lost 1-2 in Sauk Rapids. The team had its first home game in Sleepy Eye on Nov. 15, where it dominated 11-4 over Redwood Falls. A day later, NUSE had another at-home victory, this time a 5-2 win over Marshall in New Ulm.
     
    On Nov. 17, the team had its third home game in a row but lost another close one to Sauk Rapids, 0-1. The PeeWees played another tough team the next day, and lost 2-5 against Mankato in New Ulm. The two goals for NUSE were scored by Kyle Tauer and Landon Strong in the third period.
