Mom, Aunt Vickie, cousins Colleen, Tari, Theresa, Rhonda, Stephanie and I will gather for the weekend and enjoy each others company. We will also be celebrating Mom and Vickie's birthdays. Last Sunday was Vickie's special day and this coming Sunday is Mom's special day. Happy Birthday to both of them!
The girls have so much fun sharing our limited time together that by the end of Friday night, we are sore from laughing! You just never know the topics of conversation and I have to say some would never get it. But it doesn't matter... it's our time to enjoy each other.
The last time I tried to enjoy a weekend away with the girls my brother Larry ended up in the hospital. All ended well and that is the only thing that matters. But what was meant to be a stress-free weekend, became a stress-filled weekend. So, with God's grace, this weekend will make up for that one.
Don't forget Monday is the Holiday Kickoff in Sleepy Eye with the crowning of the Little Miss and Mr. Holiday. Santa will arrive at Wooldrik Park compliments of the Sleepy Eye Fire Department on a shiny fire truck. The jolly man will light the Christmas lights in the park and than head to the Community Center for Supper with Santa and finally crown the new Little Miss and Mr. It's an evening of pure enjoyment.
Also, good luck to the guys heading west hunting in South Dakota. Stay safe and bring home some deer.
Don't forget the Herald-Dispatch goes to press on Tuesday rather than Wednesday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. That means your deadline is FRIDAY. Your newspaper will be in your mailbox early, Wednesday, rather than late with the holiday.
We hope this Thanksgiving you have many reasons to be thankful.
