Senator Gary Dahms (R – Redwood Falls), Representative Chris Swedzinski (R – Ghent), and Representative Paul Torkelson (R – Hanska) will host an informational meeting on the state’s new MNsure program Tuesday, November 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The meeting is sponsored by the Redwood Area Development Corporation and the Redwood Area Hospital and will take place in rooms 1 and 2 of the Redwood Area Community Center.
When the Federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) became law in March 2010 it called for the establishment of a federal health insurance exchange/marketplace and gave states the option to create their own. Minnesota chose to build a Minnesota-Made health insurance exchange: MNsure.
The Informational Meeting will help individuals and small businesses understand how MNsure works.
MNsure Executive Director April Todd-Malmlov will explain the program and be available to answer questions. Enrollment for coverage began October 1 with coverage going into effect on January 1, 2014. All Senate District 16 individuals, small business owners, and those who want to be informed about MNsure are encouraged to attend.
For more information about the meeting please contact Senator Dahms’ office at 651-296-8138 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Information regarding the MNsure program can be found on its website at www.mnsure.org.
