Individual music lessons are now being offered through Sleepy Eye Community Education. Lessons are available for piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion or drum set. These lessons are open to anyone in the community with a desire to learn to play an instrument.
Lessons will be given by Beth Hauer on Mondays, 3:30-6:30 p.m., November through May in the Sleepy Eye High School band room. Lessons will be set up for five half hour sessions beginning Nov. 4.
Participants will be scheduled by their choice of time in half hour increments. Start date and continuation of lessons will be determined between instructor and student.
There will be a fee for five lessons due at first lesson. Additional costs to the student include purchasing a lesson book. Those interested in playing a band instrument do need to provide their own instrument. Instruments may be rented from Jacobs and Meidl in New Ulm or Music Mart in Mankato. Contact Beth Hauer at Sleepy Eye Public School, 507-794-7904, email@example.com for more information.
Students enrolled in the high school band may take lessons on an instrument other than the one they play in band to develop their skill and talent in another instrument.
