  • Where there’s a will there’s a way

  • Tuesday evening sitting at the football game I came to the realization I should live in a warmer climate during the cold months of the year. I’m very much a wimp when it comes to being cold and if cold enough, I can even get a little crabby.

  • Tuesday evening sitting at the football game I came to the realization I should live in a warmer climate during the cold months of the year. I’m very much a wimp when it comes to being cold and if cold enough, I can even get a little crabby.

There is nothing I dislike more than being cold. It feels like you will never warm up. Walking is difficult because I cannot feel my toes. All I want then, is to crawl in bed with lots of heavy blankets, my toes surrounded by heavy socks and the blankets up around by chin.

You think I’d be used to it, being cold that is. Growing up, our house was old and the upstairs had no heat except for the warm air that rose from the floor furnace in our dining room. During the winter my bedroom would be so cold, there would be frost on the panelled walls. It was OK back then and now I even laugh and tease Mom about putting me in a bedroom with no heat.

Maybe like the thought for the week, we can will ourselves warm, but sitting at the game, I just couldn’t will anything. The time wasn’t running fast enough and those darn refs kept stopping the clock! At halftime, I was confident of a victory and could have gone home, but I wanted to be a good sport.

For over a week now we have been working on our 2014 budgets for the newspaper and I was looking forward to an evening out of my office. It will come, it’s Wednesday morning as I write this and tonight I plan to sit on my warm couch, snuggled in a warm blanket, in my warm sitting room, watching something on TV or reading, while I sip on some warm tea. There, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

    Thought for the week: Philosophy
Life itself can’t give you joy, unless you really will it; life just gives you time and space, it’s up to you to fill it. – author unknown.
