The City of Sleepy Eye is reapplying for funds to help property owners make improvements in their neighborhood.
As part of the application process, the city is required to collect short surveys from households in the target area, which includes Walnut, Maple and Water Streets SW from Seventh and Eighth Avenue SW.
Even those property owners who do not wish to borrow funds or feel they are not eligible, should answer the five survey questions and return the survey so the neighborhood can be assisted.
For those wishing to take part in the funding it is important that the pre-application portion of the survey is also returned.
The Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership has been commissioned to collect and analyze the surveys and pre-applications. Privacy will be maintained and city officials will not see individual results of the surveys or pre-applications for funding.
The following steps should be taken when filling out the survey:
- Provide your address and check the box certifying your residency.
- Fill out the required survey information.
- Read the Housing Rehab Example Financing sheet to see if you are eligible and interested in repairs.
- Fill out the pre-application if you would like to be put on a list for the program funds.
All surveys and pre-applications must be returned or postmarked by Friday, Oct. 25. They can be returned to Sleepy Eye City Hall or mailed to Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership.
Those needing another survey sheet or pre-application can pick one up at City Hall.
