The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is again going to be sponsoring the Nation-wide Take Back Initiative (NTBI) in Minnesota Oct. 26.
This program allows residents of participating jurisdictions to bring their expired or unused prescription medications to a designated drop off location for disposal.
The purpose of the NTBI is to stem the flow of prescription medications into the hands juveniles and people who abuse these substances.
The Redwood Falls Police Department and the Redwood County Sheriff’s Department are pleased to announce they are going to be participating in the NTBI program.
Residents of Redwood County are welcome to bring their expired or unused prescription medications to the Law Enforcement Center Oct. 26 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Only medication is going to be accepted. Syringes, batteries, glucose meters or other similar items are not going to be accepted.
If you have any questions you may contact Redwood Falls Police Department Assistant Police Chief Jason Cotner at (507) 637-4005 or Redwood County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Mark Farasyn at (507) 637-4036.
