THE ST. JOHN’S CROSS country team competed at the annual grade school MVL meet on Sept. 27. Matthew Beussman was awarded a gold medal after his first place finish in the fifth and sixth grade boys division. Beussman won with a time of 7:05, which was 44 seconds better than his time last year. In the same division, Colton Moldan took third place and earned a bronze medal, while Aleksei Soloviyov and Yuri Soloviyov took fifth and seventh, respectfully. Colten Maas represented the seventh and eighth grade boys division with a sixth place finish. For the girls, Molly Landkammer took fourth place in the fifth and sixth grade girls and improved her time by a minute and eight seconds from last year. Finally, Chantel Moldan took third in the seventh and eighth grade girls. The team will be traveling to Fort Ridgley on Oct. 11 for the conference meet.
