  • The River Valley Wildcats took a 0-7 loss against St. James in the Section 3A quarterfinal on Oct. 3.

Both Kalyn Haas and Sara Haugo had first set leads at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, but the talent among the top ranked Saints was too much for the Wildcats. St. James had straight set victories in every match except for Carissa Evers and Ashley Johnson, who were able to win the first set at No. 2 doubles.

River Valley ends its season with a 5-17 record. Although the season is over for the team, six athletes will continue to compete in the Section 3A Individual Tournament on Oct. 10 in Redwood Valley. Haas will compete at No. 1 singles, while Lauren Laffen will compete at No. 2. For doubles, Erika Ries and Natalie Stevens will represent the Wildcats at No. 1 doubles, while Evers and Johnson will battle at No. 2.
