  • What inspired you to become a teacher?
     
    “A great fourth grade teacher and a love for helping others learn and understand.” 
     
    What is most challenging as a teacher? Why?
     
    “Keeping up with technology–it changes so much.” 
     
    What teaching moment is most memorable?
     
    “Lots of moments–seeing a child happy and confident in being able to learn.” 
     
    More about Janet
     
    Experience: Janet has been involved in teaching for 30 years. She has taught in preschool through eighth grade classrooms and has also taught homeschooling.
     
    Hometown: Janet was born in Wisconsin and moved to the Sleepy Eye area at age 16. She has also lived in Green Bay, Wisc. and Arizona.
     
     
    Education: Janet graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm and has also received medical assistant training where she held a position for three years.
     
    Family: Parents, Al and Hazel Maasz of rural Sleepy Eye, two sisters and one brother, husband, Mike, five children and nine grandchildren.
