  • On July 23, 23 local Boy Scouts from two different troops, along with adult leaders, set out to northern New Mexico to hike and backpack two different mountains (one at 11,742 feet and the other at 12,441 feet) for 11 days.

  • On July 23, 23 local Boy Scouts from two different troops, along with adult leaders, set out to northern New Mexico to hike and backpack two different mountains (one at 11,742 feet and the other at 12,441 feet) for 11 days.
     
    The group covered 70-90 miles and camped nights at staffed camps with Chuck Wagon dinners, rock climbing, horseback riding and old west theme camps. The camp admits 300 scouts per day and a total of 25,000 per summer with 25 treks covering 300 trail miles to choose from in the 214 square mile southern Rocky Mountain wilderness.
     
    Boy Scout Troop 25 is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 1076, and Troop 100 is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 3134.
