It is time to start quilting again. The fall classes are all scheduled for the second Saturday of the month, meaning the first will be Sept. 14. The group starts arriving at 8 a.m. and stays as long as they can up to 4 p.m. All skill levels are invited to attend and many types of projects are worked on. From small items like table runners to king size quilts and everything in between is on someone's list of to do projects. Participants bring their own fabrics, sewing notions, machine and patterns, as well as one thing for the potluck lunch. Beginners are encouraged to call for patterns and yardage of fabric needed.
Early Childhood Family Education classes begin in the next couple of weeks. Three- to five-year-olds will be meeting on Tuesdays, 9-10:30 a.m., 4:30-6 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. beginning Sept. 17. Discovery Time for three-year-olds will start on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The next week will have the Two-year-olds coming on Monday, Sept. 23, 6-7:30 p.m., for nine sessions.
Toddlers are planned for Thursdays, 6-7:15 p.m. beginning Thursday, Oct. 3 for six sessions this fall.

Some deadline are approaching for one day outings this fall. The first deadline is for the comedy "Last Train to Nibroc" on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Christmas, 1940. A soldier. A schoolteacher. A train. All aboard for a surprising and engaging character study of two young people searching for happiness as they navigate the eternal mysteries of courtship and how fate works it's hand in it all. This old-fashioned love story will take you on a sweet journey of the heart. Noon luncheon, theater ticket and motor coach is included in the fee. Sign-up is needed by Sept. 17.
The next outing needing attention is for Wednesday, Oct. 30 to "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Chanhassen. Some of the songs included are "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "If I Were a Rich Man" and "Sunrise, Sunset." It is the main stage production and includes a noon luncheon. Sign-up is needed by Sept. 30.
A number of outings have been planned by GFW Community Ed. The first is a Fall Colors on the Mississippi via the Padelford Boat for Monday, Oct. 7 with sign-up needed by Sept. 19. They will also be seeing "Cowgirls" at the Old Log Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with sign-up needed by Sept. 16. Another outing is an afternoon of conversation and song with Peter Yarrow from the folk trio, Peter, Paul and Mary. It will be in the Dassel-Cokato Performing Art Center on Sunday, Oct. 17. Renaissance Festival discount tickets are available in this office. They are $5 less than the gate price and can be used until the last weekend of September.
