  • The Heart of Brown County invites everyone in Sleepy Eye to be a SWAP IT to DROP IT shopping pro!
     
    Making SWAPs to save just 100 calories each day can help you lose 10 pounds in a year. It’s simple just SWAP–choose water instead a soda, skip the sugar and creamer in your coffee or downsize your daily soda from 20 ounces to 12 ounces–here and there during the day. It’s that easy! Every SWAP adds up and makes a difference.
     
    To help people get started, registered dietitians from The Heart of Brown County Project are hosting grocery store tours. Each tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and is free. Join the group in the front of the store. Tours are informative, practical and fun! Tour participants will leave armed with loads of advice on how to start SWAP-ing right away.
     
    On the tour, participants will discover:
     
    • How to read a food label to save calories
    • What aisles are best for finding the healthiest choices
    • How to shop on a budget
    • Where to find food and beverage substitutes that are healthy, save calories and taste great, too
    • How fun shopping can be when you know how to SWAP IT to DROP IT
     
    There will be plenty of opportunity for people to get their questions answered and SWAP ideas with others in the group.
     
    Come to a free tour at Schutz Family Foods, 900 Main St. W. in Sleepy Eye:
     
    • Thursday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
    • Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m.
    • Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 12 p.m.
    • Thursday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m.
