The opening day of the Sleepy Eye Farmer's Market was a steamy one, but that didn't stop vendors and customer alike from shopping for fresh local produce.
Even with temperatures hovering in the 90s vendors and customers alike turned out for the first day of the Sleepy Eye Farmer's Market. Dorothy Helget sold baked goods to a customer.
Mayor Jim Broich took shelter from the sun under the back of his vehicle while he sold onions, turnips and baked goods to customers who dared the heat.
The farmers market is held every Monday from 3-5 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot from July until September.
