  • The Sleepy Eye Chapter of Let's Go Fishing was busy this past week as the weather proved to be perfect for spending time on the lake.
     
    In one day the Let’s Go Fishing pontoon had four outings scheduled. Let’s Go Fishing launched its pontoon in 2005 and uses Sleepy Eye Lake to do outings.
     
    Let's Go Fishing is a non-profit organization providing free fishing and boating excursions for families, senior groups or anyone who has meetings and celebrations in Sportsmen's Park. A current MN fishing license is required, but all the other equipment is furnished on the pontoon, including life vests, rods and reels, bait, fish finder, stereo, drinking water, sweet snacks for diabetic emergencies, first aid kit, cell phone, a trained Captain and 1st Mate.
     
    The pontoon is a 24-foot long crestliner, with a 60 hp motor, a full canopy and 12 captains chairs which can be removed to accommodate wheelchairs.The pontoon is docked at the Sportsman's Park in the north side of Sleepy Eye Lake.
