Mary Hoffmann, Sleepy Eye Ag. teacher, attended the Region III Agricultural Educators Conference June 18-20 in Yankton, S.D. This three day professional development conference was attended by over 50 agricultural instructors from across Region III, which includes Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin.
While at the conference, Hoffmann attended professional development workshops, discussion meetings and committee meetings and judged award applications.
“It is an excellent opportunity to attend a regional conference and learn from others in the same profession. It’s great to spread my network of Ag. connections and resources to teachers in neighboring states,” Hoffmann said.
Hoffmann is currently finishing up her term as the vice president of the MAAE (Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators). Throughout the year Hoffmann has attended several MAAE meetings, was the liaison between MAAE and the committees (Supervised Agricultural Experience, Career Development Events), and served as the MAAE representative on the Minnesota Association of Career and Technical Education and FFA Alumni Boards.
