  • The Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre residency of “Robin Hood” was very successful. Fifty-one local children were involved and put on a great show in one week. Over 300 people attended the two performances. Since it was a gloomy and rainy week, the children did not mind being in rehearsals. This was the third time that this play had been done in Sleepy Eye and two of the participants from 1993 had children in this production in 2013. Sleepy Eye Community Education has sponsored this residency week since 1991. The last couple of years a grant has been written to Prairie Lakes Arts Council to help cover part of the residency fee.

A large group of children attended the first ECFE book wagon on Thursday. They will continue each Thursday in June unless there is inclement weather. There were plenty of books to read or look at the pictures depending on the age of the child. Each family will be receiving a free book from a R.E.A.D. grant courtesy of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation
Come to the South Park at 9:30 a.m. or to Keifer Park at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
