Richard Buegler, age 72, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Funeral home. Memorial service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 4 p.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, in Kasson, later next week. Richard Allen Buegler was born on July 10, 1940 in Kasson, the son of Clifford A. and Evelyn (Durst) Buegler. Richard lived in Kasson from 1940 until 1968. He was the owner of Buegler Trucking and Mink Feeds. He married Janice Wacker on July 30, 1966 at the United Methodist Church in Kasson. Richard and Janice lived in Lonsdale from 1968 until 1970 and then returned to Kasson from 1971 until 1990. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1990 where he was CEO of Pietrus Foods and also worked at MRCI, Nova House and HSI in New Ulm. Richard served on the Building Committee and was a Sunday School teacher at United Methodist Church in Kasson. He loved to cook, was very knowledgeable about WWII and the Civil War, loved football and was an avid Minnesota Gophers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Buegler of Sleepy Eye; daughter, Michelle Janice Johnson of Sleepy Eye; brothers, Larry (Joyce) Buegler of Arden Hills, Danny (Kathy) Buegler of LeSueur; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ursula (Alfred) Thedens of Rochester, Virginia Nitardy of St. Paul, Fredrick Wacker, Jr. of Longmont, Colo., Betty (Frank) Schmitt of Fort Meyers, Fla., Norma Sheppard of DosPalos, Calif., Ruth Murray of Rochester, Norman Wacker of Ainsworth, Iowa, Marge Lee of Austin, Paul Wacker of Colorado Springs, Colo., Doraine (Terry) Fieck of Lake Stevens, Wash., Sheryl (Ron) Theel of St. Charles, Mo., Robert (Sharon) Wacker of Fort Collins, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane, in-laws, Fredrick (Alma) Wacker and brother-in-law, Frank Wacker.
