State Senator Gary Dahms (R-Redwood Falls) received the Honorary State FFA Degree. The purpose of the degree program is to recognize individuals who render outstanding service to the agricultural education-FFA program.
“I am humbled that the FFA chose me as a recipient of an honorary degree,” Dahms said. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by this amazing organization.”
This year, 25 people were recognized with the Honorary Minnesota FFA Degree during the annual awards ceremony of the 84th Minnesota FFA Convention at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. The convention was held April 28-30 in St. Paul and drew 3,000-plus FFA members, advisors and guests from across the state.
Minnesota FFA relies on the support of exceptional teachers, individuals and companies to provide life-changing experiences for its members. Senator Dahms has long supported the organization and the agriculture industry in Minnesota.
“It’s important for young people to carry on our rural traditions,” added Dahms. “Agriculture is one of those traditions, and we must continue to educate our students about the industry and encourage their enthusiasm for it.”
