The Indians hosted Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart for a doubleheader on May 14. Sleepy Eye dominated all aspects of the first game, and sophomore McKayla Ahlrich threw a no-hitter.

“It felt really good,” said Ahlrich regarding her first no-hitter of the season.

Ahlrich threw a total of seven strikeouts in the no-hitter, an impressive feat especially because of the blustery weather conditions.

“I knew she had it in her,” Sleepy Eye Public coach Tim Hoffmann said. “She’s building confidence, and that’s great especially as we’re getting ready for playoffs.”
