It is time to think summer! Youth activities sign-up will be on Monday, May 13, 5-6:30 p.m. in the Sleepy Eye School Cafeteria. Parents are invited to visit during this time and bring calendars, checkbooks or cash and the packet of activities that was sent home with youth last week. If you did not get a copy, check out the school website under Community Education and all of the activities are listed. Extras will be available at the event.
The only ones with scheduled appointments are the Sleepy Eye Family Aquatic Center. The schedule is alphabetical according to last names: 5-5:20 p.m. G-M; 5:20-5:45 p.m. N-S; 5:45-6:05 p.m. T-Z and 6:05-6:30 p.m. A-F. Sleepy Eye Park and Recreation, Sleepy Eye Community Education and Brown County Extension sign up will be available the entire time.
Some of the activities planned for the summer are Youth Golf Lessons, Lego Design, Quilt in a Day, Babysitting Clinic, ECFE Book Wagon, “Robin Hood” with Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre, Paint a Picture, Youth Camp, Mystery Day Camp, Science Day Camp and Swimming Lessons. Park and Rec activities include Baseball, Smurf Ball, Track and Field, Arts and Crafts, Fun in the Park, Games Galore, Flag Football, Water Games, Pool Fun and Tennis.

Behind the Wheel schedules have been distributed and some changes have already been made. Students are asked to contact this office if a change is needed. Some earlier times have opened up as well for anyone wishing to come sooner than they were assigned. Students who may have taken classroom elsewhere can check on the availability of participating in our summer program.

The other activity planned for the month includes the Tulip Festival in Orange City, Iowa on Thursday, May 16. Sign-up is needed by May 8 so letters can be sent to the participants. Space is available for additional participants.
Early registration is needed by May 28 for the Minnesota Twins/Chicago White Sox on Thursday, June 20, 12:10 p.m. game. Seats are in the Home Run Porch Terrace area.
