  • SEPS girls golf team places first at conference meet

  • The Sleepy Eye Public girls golf team took first at the Tomahawk Conference Tournament on May 3 at the Oakdale Golf Club.

    The Sleepy Eye Public girls golf team took first at the Tomahawk Conference Tournament on May 3 at the Oakdale Golf Club.
     
    Junior Karrah Remus led the Indians with a score of 92, while senior Emily Curtis and freshman Lauren Laffen shot 93 apiece.
     
    Remus had the second lowest score of the meet, only 10 away from Carly Schmalz of BLHS who shot an 82.
     
    The boys took fifth place and senior Tyler Netzke shot an 89.

    Course par: 72.
    Girls: Karrah Remus 92, Emily Curtis 93, Lauren Laffen 93, Kaylee Hillmer 111, Tia Cselovski 114, Sarah Rossbach 142.
    Boys: Tyler Netzke 89, Wyatt Kosmatka 96, Ben Laffen 97, Caleb Christensen 98, Matt Miller 105.
     
    Girls: Sleepy Eye Public 203, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 210

    On a side note, the Indians hosted the Mustangs on May 2 at the Sleepy Eye Golf Course. The girls won by seven strokes, but the boys lost by 14 strokes.
