  • St. Mary’s girls golf team wins Madelia meet

    The St. Mary’s girls golf team took first while the boys team took second at the Madelia meet on May 2.
     
    Senior Mackenzie Schutz shot a 53 to lead the Knights, which was the second lowest overall score at the meet. Sophomores Sarah Surprenant and Anna Miller also contributed, scoring 60 and 65, respectfully.
     
    The boys team took second with freshman Ryan Heinrichs leading the way with a score of 45. John Brandl shot a 46 while Kansas Adams shot a 47.

    The Knights also played in the Tomahawk Conference Tournament on May 3. The boys tied for third place with Cedar Mountain-Comfrey with a score of 368.
     
    Adams shot the second lowest score of the meet for the boys with 83. Heinrichs and Brandl were just behind him with scores of 89 and 91.
     
    The girls took seventh overall, and Schutz shot a 105 for St. Mary’s.
