Ron Richard Braulick, 66, of New Ulm died Saturday, May 4, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home in New Ulm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Ronald Richard Braulick was born March 31, 1947 in New Ulm to Harold and Margaret (Braun) Braulick. He graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1965. On June 27, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Diane Forster at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Ron worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for a few years and then as a Milkman for Dannheim’s and as a gas truck driver for Cenex in Essig. Although Ron battled diabetes for 48 years, he lived his life to the fullest every day. Ron enjoyed camping with his family and throwing bean bags on weekends. He also looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his buddies. In his younger years, Ron was an avid motorcyclist and lifetime member of the Flying Dutchman Motorcycle Club. Ron also enjoyed his Tuesday night pool league, Thursday and Friday night poker games, his morning coffee buddies, feeding all the birds, and most of all, his prize possession, his ’67 Ford. Ron was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the Catholic Order of Foresters in New Ulm. He always had a smile on his face, especially around his family. He will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by his wife, Diane Braulick of New Ulm; father, Harold Braulick of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Scott Johnson of New Ulm, Michelle Braulick and Jeff Homich of Minnetrista, Jeannette and Erik Olson of Waconia; grandkids, Kristina Braulick, Alex Braulick, Brody Johnson, Ethan Homich, McKenzie Olson, Trevin Olson, Jaci Johnson, Kaylee Homich; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Frank Smasal of Madison Lake, Joleen and Dan Sundvall of Champlin; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Marlene Braulick of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Braulick; granddaughter, Samantha Johnson; nephew, Craig Smasal; great nephews, Nick Janni, and Jared Smasal, Jr.
