  • Sister Mary Margaret Dapporn, a member of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Rochester, will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee (60 years) on May 16, with her Community of Sisters.
    Sister Mary Margaret, formerly Sister Fabioloa, daughter of Regina Dapporn and John Tauer (deceased), entered the Rochester Franciscan Congregation from Saint Mary, Help of Christians Parish in Sleepy Eye, and professed vows in 1953.
    She attended the College of Saint Teresa, Winona, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Sister Mary Margaret spent her career in elementary education and teaching piano. She also spent 32 years in Watertown, S.D., as a teacher and a night nurse aide in local nursing homes.
    Now, Sister Mary Margaret enjoys tutoring students and assisting teachers at Saint Pius X School in Rochester, and volunteering with ministries at Assisi Heights.
