The Knights started their season with two wins over Minnesota Valley Lutheran on April 25.

Senior Jordan Anderson pitched the entire first game to lead St. Mary’s. Anderson threw six strikeouts and only allowed three hits and four walks. He also scored one run and had two hits.

“Jordan did a great job for us tonight,” Coach Bruce Woitas said. “The defense was there to support Jordan all day.”

Sophomore Brandon Helget was another key player for the victory. He hit one double along with two RBI.

In game two, the Knights once again took an early lead and scored three runs in the third inning. The Chargers scored two runs in the fourth and another three in the sixth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Knight’s offense.

Anderson went 3-4 at bat and scored three of the seven runs for St. Mary’s. Senior Sean Mathiowetz went 2-4 with one run and an RBI while Brandon Helget, Mitch Neid and Tyler Helget combined for six RBI.

“It was nice to finally get out of the gym and get on a field,” Woitas said.
