Cyrilla Ann Turbes, age 87, of Springfield, died on April 18, 2013, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls.
Cyrilla Ann Turbes, age 87, of Springfield, MN died on April 18, 2013, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be on Monday, April 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield. There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Service will be held at the St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Father Mark Mallak. Interment will be at the St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Cyrilla Turbes was born on July 24, 1925 to Theodore and Ann (Lang) Fischer and resided on a farm in Bashaw Township Brown County. She attended country school Districts 59 and 65 and St. Raphael's Catholic School. She was a member of St. Raphael's Church and St. Anne's CCW. On November 12, 1960 she married James Turbes at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. They farmed in Brookville Township until the fall of 1985 when they moved to Grand Rapids, for several years. There they enjoyed many hours of fishing, golfing, gardening and visiting with friends. The couple moved back to Springfield in 1988. Cyrilla and Jim enjoyed traveling especially their trips to Branson and Alaska, card playing and visiting with relatives and friends, gardening, and spending time with grandchildren. In March 2013, they moved to Countryside Apartments in Sleepy Eye.
Cyrilla is survived by husband James; daughters, Patricia (Ken) Hemmingsen of Springfield and Jean (Nick) Frank of Grand Rapids; granddaughters, Shari and Alison Hemmingsen of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marcie Buddensiek.
