  • Two car wrecks took place in the Sleepy Eye area on Friday, April 12.
    According to the Minnesota State Patrol website, Donan Hemming, 58, of Sleepy Eye, was traveling northwest on County Road 27 in his 2004 Chevy pickup while Patricia English-Schneider, 47, of Sleepy Eye was traveling eastbound on Highway 14 in her 2010 Subaru Forester when the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
    Hemming suffered no apparent injury while English-Schneider was treated for a minor injury.
    The road condition was stated as wet, and the crash type was broadside. Assisting agencies included the Brown County Sheriff Office, Sleepy Eye Police Department, Sleepy Eye Fire Department, Sleepy Eye Ambulance Service, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
    Meanwhile, Rita Mae Fahse, 55, of Sleepy Eye was driving her 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme on CSAH 24, west of State Highway 4, when the vehicle lost control on the slushy, icy roads. The vehicle entered the south ditch and rolled over. Fahse sustained minor injuries and was later transported to a hospital by a private party. The vehicle sustained moderated to severe damage and is considered a complete loss.
