Those who traveled to “Ring of Fire” last week thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. We do have interest in going again on Friday, April 26 for a 1 p.m. matinee, but need to know if others want to join the group. Call in by this Friday.

Two more 55 Alive Renewal classes remain on the spring schedule: Wednesday, April 24, 1-5 p.m. and Tuesday, May 7, 5:30-9:30 p.m.

The last All Day Quilting session will be on Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Bring those unfinished projects or start a new one for the summer.

A number of people have indicated interest in the Tulip Festival at Orange City, Iowa on Thursday, May 16. We would leave at 8 a.m. and return at 7 p.m.

If you have a preschooler, be sure to check out early learning options at the schools for the next school year. It is not too early to be added to the list. Most programs include children who will be three or four by Sept. 1, 2013.

Another option is the Head Start program for children who will be three or four by Sept. 1, 2013. This program is based on income. Call 507-359-9287 for more information. An open house will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Sleepy Eye Head Start building, 500 4th Ave. SW.

The Community Education office is located in room 109 of the Sleepy Eye High School. School day office hours are generally 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Since staff is part-time, they may not always be in the building. You can call and leave a message on voicemail, 507-794-7873, and we will get back to you with more information. Another option is to e-mail staff with questions and to sign-up. Addresses are on the school website.
