St. Mary’s School hosted a blood drive Wednesday, April 3.
Senior Devyn Meyer has donated blood before, but this is the first time she has donated double reds. According to the American Red Cross, double red cell donation is similar to a whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning plasma and platelets to the body.
Many students not only took part in coordinating the blood drive, but donated blood as well.
