  • Three girls with Sleepy Eye ties competed in the Midwest Area Gymnastics Associations State Meet on Saturday, March 23 in Owatonna.

  • Three girls with Sleepy Eye ties competed in the Midwest Area Gymnastics Associations State Meet on Saturday, March 23 in Owatonna.
     
    Mackenzie Helget, daughter of Trever and Gwen Helget, placed second on her floor routine, fifth on beam, and eighth All Around in the Junior division.
     
    Mikaela and Taryn Sellner, daughters of Michael and Teresa Sellner of Mankato, also competed at the State Meet. Mikaela placed sixth on the beam, 12th on vault, and seventh All Around in the Junior division.
     
    Taryn finished fifth on beam, fifth on floor, seventh on bars, and fifth All Around in the Child division.
     
    The girls were up against over 200 girls in each age division from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and South Dakota.
     
    They also competed together on their K & G Ocean Blitz team on Sunday, March 17 in Menomonie. They competed in the MAGA Division 1 State meet, placing fifth. The MAGA program consists of 139 teams. The girls belong to K & G Gymnastics School in Mankato.
