  • The 33rd annual Home & Self Improvement Show (HASIS) returns to the New Ulm Civic Center Friday through Sunday, March 22, 23 and 24.

Having started in 1980 at the Vogel Arena, this annual event has grown in size to host over 200 vendors and has become, according to Jenny Eckstein, VP of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce, "the social event of the spring!"

HASIS features over 200 booths highlighting local and national home & self-improvement specialists as well as free seminars, daily prize drawings (including $500 in Chamber Dollar Gift Certificates) and a wide variety of food options.

New to HASIS this year is the inclusion of the BIR Performance Driving School (PDS) featuring Gary Curtis, current owner and director of the school and past winner of the American Le Mans Panoz GTS Pro Series. Founded over 20 years ago, the BIR Performance Driving School offers the opportunity for any licensed driver 16 years of age or older to drive a real race car or their own vehicle on the track at the historic Brainerd International Raceway.

At HASIS this year, the BIR PDS will be featuring track vehicles as well as information on the various open driving events and experiences available to the general public and corporate groups.

For those stopping by the BIR PDS booth, there will be free drawings for complimentary performance driving sessions.

HASIS is sponsored and organized by the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, which includes the New Ulm Business & Retail Association, to help promote and support local businesses as well as city beautification projects.
Admission to this event is free to the public.

    Hours of this event are 3:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, March 22, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday, March 23, and 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 24.
